HCL Loading Increase Project
A company loads trailer trucks with hydrochloric acid. Typically, trucks were waiting on other trucks to
load their vehicles. The owner wanted to increase the loading rate so trucks were not waiting in line.
RJV designed the upgraded system; sized the pump, pipe, mixing system, loading system, and
incorporated new safety controls. RJV oversaw the construction, checked out the system, and
participated in the start-up of new system. System went from 160 gallons per minute to 330 gallons per
minute. The project was such a success, a similar project was later done at another one of their
facilities.
