Automated Placing of Parts on Conveyor
A customer wanted to automatically place parts on a conveyor in a specific orientation. Demand was growing and labor constraints were becoming a concern to keep up with that demand. The conveyor line had to be sped up and they needed to work thru breaks, lunch and other conveyor line stoppages.
RJV Solutions provided a turn-key automation system for placing parts on a conveyor. We found a bowl feeding system (that could handle multiple parts), combined that with a camera and our control scheme, to orient the parts. A small Epson robot was used to place the parts on the conveyor at a particular spot in a specific orientation. Three of these feeder/robot systems were integrated with their process and work together thru our HMI/PLC system. This automated system is meeting cycle time with minimal operator interaction.
